Kristan T. Winand Designs

Kristan began creating beaded jewelry at a young age, making many gifts for friends and family. Once in college at Millersville University she was finally able to learn to work with fine metals in MU's metalsmithing classes. It was in those classes that her piece "Our Defenders' Charm" and her swan pin originated as casting projects.

Kristan's plan after graduating was to work as a jeweler to learn how to repair jewelry and set stones, and then to work in an administrative position in order to obtain skills necessary to run a business. She did just that, working as a jeweler with Smyth Jewelers in Timonium, MD and then as Administrative Coordinator with the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area, a non-profit organization in Wrightsville, PA.

While employed full-time, Kristan designed and created her jewelry at home as a serious hobby, beginning with her Camber Collection. She finally got the courage to pursue her dream of doing it full-time, and in October of 2009, with the encouragement of her family and friends, she left her job to get started.

Many of Kristan's designs are inspired by nature: petals, water droplets and leaves, to name a few. She loves to create pieces that feel good between your fingertips.
